Papers, 1920-2000.

These papers, the final installment of Lyons' papers and his career, focus on his poetry. In addition there are several works of drama, fiction, papers written as a student, nonfiction, essays written by World War II veterans in 1947 and 1948 in Lyons' English classes, and a small amount of correspondence. In addition there are copies of some works by his wife Marjorie Dunkel Lyons.

Richard Lyons was born in 1920 in Michigan. He received his M.A. degree from Miami University in 1946. In 1950 he came to North Dakota State University where he taught English until retiring in 1982.
